Built for the nails a regular base can't hold
Thin, flaky, brittle or split nails are where gel services fail first: the nail bends, the coating cracks and the color lifts. A standard base is applied too thin to give them real support.
Rubber Base Coat is made for exactly that client. Its high viscosity builds a protective layer in a single application, and its hyper-flexible formula moves with the natural nail instead of cracking, so the manicure stays intact while the nail grows stronger underneath.
The most versatile base on the station
- Overlay and capping on natural nails
- Leveling uneven or ridged nail plates
- Short natural nail extensions
- Base for gel polish on weak nails
- Prep before Easy Gel construction
- Adhesive for Soft Gel Tips
Where Rubber fits in the system
Pink Mask makes a base for every nail. Rubber covers the space between a thin polish base and a rigid builder, the spot where most weak nails live.
Healthy nails
- Medium viscosity, thin layer
- Adhesion for gel polish
Thin, weak or uneven nails
- High viscosity, hyper-flexible
- Overlay, capping, leveling
- Free edge up to 3 mm
Longer structures
- Thicker and rigid
- Free edge over 3 mm
Prep & base
Prep the natural nail, then cure a thin layer of Pink Mask Base Coat.
Bead
Brush a thin coat over the nail and, without curing, place a drop in the center.
Level
Spread toward the free edge, guide to the sides with a liner, then flip the finger a few seconds.
Cure
Once the reflection forms a perfect oval, cure about 30 s under UV/LED.
Key features
Self-Leveling
Settles into a smooth, even surface on its own, which makes capping and leveling faster and more precise.
Two Ways to Remove
Soak off with Gel Remover after breaking the surface, or file off with a 150/180 grit file or a carbide or ceramic bit.
Refill Ready
A 2.0 fl oz refill tops up four Clear bottles, so busy salons never run short of their go-to base.
Thick in the brush, smooth on the nail
Watch Rubber Base Coat Clear in an overlay: a rich, high-viscosity bead that self-levels into a clean, even layer, reinforcing the nail from sidewall to free edge in a single application.

Frequently asked questions
What is Rubber Base Coat used for?
It gives strength and support to thin, flaky, brittle or split nails. Use it for overlay or capping, to level uneven nails, for short natural nail extensions, as a gel polish base, before Easy Gel construction and to adhere Soft Gel Tips.
Do I need a primer or another base first?
No primer or bonder is needed. For the best adhesion, we recommend a thin layer of Pink Mask Base Coat underneath, cured before the Rubber Base.
Is it self-leveling?
Yes. Rubber Base Coat levels itself, which makes capping and leveling much easier.
Rubber Base or Classic Base Coat?
If the natural nail is weak or uneven, use Rubber Base for structure. If the nail is healthy, Classic Base Coat is enough.
Rubber Base or Builder Gel?
For thin, delicate nails, Rubber Base: it flexes with the nail without cracking and doesn't add extra weight. If the free edge is longer than 3 mm, Builder Gel gives the more rigid structure a longer nail needs.
How long does it take to cure?
About 30 seconds under a UV/LED lamp of 48 watts or higher.
How do I remove it?
Two ways: break the surface and soak with Gel Remover for about 15 minutes, or file it off with a 150/180 grit file or a carbide or ceramic bit.
Which top coat should I use with it?
Any Pink Mask top coat works. Choose Rubber Top Coat for extra flexibility and durability, or Extreme Shine for a high-gloss, non-wipe finish.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Like all Pink Mask gel polishes, Rubber Base Coat is vegan, cruelty-free and 13-free, and our formulas are 100% TPO-free. See the full list on our 13-Free page.
